Why support the Wales Air Ambulance service?
The Wales Air Ambulance is the national air ambulance charity for Wales, and provides emergency air cover 365 days a year for those who face life-threatening situations. The charity is funded entirely by donations to raise the £6 million each year needed to operate its three helicopters across the country.
We are proud to have chosen Wales Air Ambulance as our charity for all our events. Aside from supporting the Bishopston, Gower and broader Wales communities, we are also aware that we may one day need them during a challenge!
In 2015 we raised over £4,000 through auction, raffle and a Virgin Giving page. In 2016 we raised over £25,000! To achieve this, we run a number of initiatives including:
Runner fundraising – Each participant is encouraged to raise money through our VirginGiving page. If each runner raises £20 we will be very close to our target, so please do ask. As in incentive we will be providing an award for each fund raiser.
Darth Mannion t-shirts – For each Darth Mannion t-shirt that we sell, £2 will be donated.
Raffle – During the winter Darth Mannion, we will be running a raffle with some great (and some not so great) prizes.
Charity auction and buckets – As in previous events, there will be a charity auction with some great lots and buckets for your loose change
Each Darth Mannion VII runner is challenged to raise a minimum of £50 through our Just Giving page and there will be an award for the person who raises the most. Anyone who raises £200 will gain free entry to the following year’s event. For you to win this award please tell the people who give you money to state your name on their donation. Please promote this link on your Facebook page, give out to work colleagues, family and friends.
